Astrocade has made game creation easier than it’s ever been, but there’s still no substitute for dedication and skill. After all, players don’t care how a game is made. They care about how it looks, feels, and plays.
So how do you develop the skills to rack up the millions of plays our top games get?

We created Astro Academy to give creators at every skill level a single, clear path towards making their best games. It’s a digestible but comprehensive crash course designed for self study, covering both the fundamentals of game design and the unique challenges of the Astrocade platform.
Topics include a breakdown of game mechanics, meta loops, and progression, opportunities for polish and special effects, download time optimization, perfecting your game’s first impression, and more.

You know an institution of higher learning means business when it has an old-timey seal
And it’s fun! Along the way, you’ll apply what you learn creating a game of your own and get live feedback from our instructors (and fellow cadets!) during regularly our Office Hours Discord events.
Astro Academy is also a community within a community on Astrocade, full of creators pushing themselves to create better, more creative, and more fun games, every day. As proud as we are of the course materials we’ve created, we’re even prouder of the atmosphere our cadets foster amongst themselves—challenging, supportive, and always silly.

If you want to learn how our best games are made, all while having fun, meeting fellow creators, and taking your first step towards earning real money from your work, join Astro Academy today. (And like the rest of Astrocade, it’s free!)
